captagon

Captagon is the brand name for a synthetic stimulant called fenethylline. Originally developed in the 1960s to treat attention deficit disorder, narcolepsy, and depression, it was later banned because of its high potential for abuse and addiction. Today, the name “captagon” is often used to refer to counterfeit tablets that may contain amphetamine, caffeine, or other stimulants, and it has been associated with illicit drug trafficking and use, particularly in parts of the Middle East.
