Railgun
A railgun is a type of electromagnetic launcher that uses a pair of parallel conductive rails and a sliding armature to accelerate a projectile to extremely high speeds. When a large electric current passes through the rails and the armature, it generates a strong magnetic field that propels the projectile along the rails without using chemical propellants such as gunpowder.
